My Bio
My name is Mike Kielb and I am from Fairfax, VA. I was born in Minnesota and raised on a farm in North Dakota. After I graduated high school I enlisted in the Navy, because it seemed like the quickest and easiest way to get as far away as possible from North Dakota and start my own personal adventure of exploring the world.
I am married to my beautiful wife Linh. We have two children, Nina and Hugh, whom are 4 and 5 years old respectively.
I spent 10 years in the Navy as an Information Systems Technician. I was successful at first and advanced through the ranks quickly until it got to the point that what I wanted out of my job started to become different from what the Navy wanted from me. So I ended up separating and managed to get a great job with BAE Systems in the Information Assurance/Security field. It is a very rewarding position because it is stressful (for some people), has long hours, and is a generally a position no one wants. However, I love the position so far because it is challenging, demanding, and has some nice travel, which keeps me from sitting at the same desk every day.
I am grateful for my time in the Navy because it allowed me to visit many parts of the world and it also paid for my college and certifications, which helped me find a job relatively easily when I chose to separate.
I also recently established my own IT consulting company and have won my first contract with a large government agency. Starting my own company has been a dream of mine for a long time, so this is an exciting stage in my life.
